We'll show you the Rainforest (Carite State Forest) and the hot springs, while learning about the Puerto Rican history, culture, geography and ecological features (birds, plants, etc). This is a full day tour from San Juan.
Itinerary
We will pick you up at your hotel and take you on a scenic journey into the heart of Puerto Rico’s central mountains. Our first destination is the lush Carite State Forest, a natural reserve rich in biodiversity and panoramic views.
🕊️ If time allows, we’ll visit Montaña Santa, a spiritual sanctuary perched high in the mountains. This peaceful site is known for its Marian devotion—witnesses claim to have experienced the presence of the Virgin Mary here for over a decade. Note: we need to be out by 2pm.
💧 Next, we’ll head to Charco Azul, a serene swimming hole nestled in the forest. A gentle 25-minute walk leads us to this hidden gem, where you can dip into cool, blue waters surrounded by nature.
🥓 Hungry? We’ll stop in Guavate, famously known as La Ruta del Lechón or the Pork Highway. This vibrant culinary corridor is where locals gather to enjoy slow-roasted pork and traditional Puerto Rican sides in a festive, music-filled atmosphere.
♨️ To close the day, we’ll unwind at the Coamo Hot Springs, one of the island’s most beloved thermal baths. Often referred to as the Fountain of Youth sought by Ponce de León, these mineral-rich waters offer a rejuvenating experience in a tranquil setting.
