01- WSJ Newsletter

Welcome to the first issue of the Walk San Juan Newsletter

Our goal is to stay connected and continue exploring the culture, history, nature, and people that make Puerto Rico such a fascinating place. Whether you visited recently or years ago, we hope these newsletters help keep those memories alive while offering new perspectives on the island.

Walk San Juan Podcast:

The centerpiece of this newsletter is the Walk San Juan Podcast.

Through conversations with historians, researchers, activists, artists, community leaders, and other fascinating guests, we'll explore the people and events that have shaped Puerto Rico's past and continue to influence its future.
Current areas of focus include:

• Patriots and independence movements
• Archaeology and new discoveries
• Environment and conservation
• Churches and religious history
• Politics and public affairs

As the project grows, new categories and stories will emerge.
Most interviews will be conducted in Spanish and published on YouTube. Thanks to YouTube's translation features, listeners around the world will be able to enjoy these conversations in their preferred language.
Many important aspects of Puerto Rican history are rarely discussed in schools or popular media. At the same time, history continues to unfold around us every day. Our mission is to document these stories and make them accessible to everyone.
Puerto Rico's story is still being written, and we invite you to be part of it.
Listen to the podcast, share your favorite episodes with friends and family, and send us your suggestions for future guests and topics. If you know a historian, archaeologist, activist, artist, community leader, or someone with an extraordinary story to tell, we'd love to hear from you.
Together, we can help preserve and share the stories that make Puerto Rico unique.
